Building Lives for Christ

About CCS

In early 1995, a small group of concerned Christian parents united to pursue starting a Christian school in the Roanoke Valley area. After months of hard work, prayer, and planning, Cornerstone Christian School opened its doors with 32 students on August 26, 1996 in Weldon, North Carolina. CCS is an independent, non-denominational Christian school which currently operates in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina.

Why a Christian School?

Proverbs 3:5-6

II Timothy 2:15

Proverbs 22:6

The question is often asked: "Why should I make the sacrifice to send my child to a Christian school?"

Many parents have a variety of reasons.

Some parents believe a private Christian school can provide an excellent academic foundation for their children; therefore, they are willing to pay for that excellence. Some parents choose Christian education because of the environment which shelters their children from drugs, immorality, weapons, gangs, etc.

Others choose this alternative because of the godly peer influence that they feel will surround their children. Although all of these are excellent reasons to consider a Christian school, none are the primary reason.

Cornerstone Christian School believes that children are entrusted to their parents by God for their physical, academic, and spiritual development. Therefore, our primary reason for existing is to assist families in fulfilling their God-given responsibilities by offering them a quality CHRISTIAN education for their children.

CCS offers a standard academic program which includes all essential academic subjects-- including Bible. Curricular and extracurricular enhancements continue to be made as the school grows. The Bible is of primary importance at CCS and is integrated throughout the entire curriculum. In honoring God's Word to do all to His glory, we strive to provide parents exactly what they expect--EXCELLENCE!

At CCS, your child will be associating with students who have a desire to do what is right. I Corinthians 15:33 says that "evil company corrupts good morals". It will be our privilege to provide a positive environment that will point our students to Christ, promote spiritual growth and development, and encourage personal purity. To ensure that our environment remains conducive to these objectives, students who do not desire to submit to authority and to the rules and standards of CCS will not be retained.

As you consider Christian education and CCS for your child, think of it as an INVESTMENT.

Yes, it requires sacrifice now, but the value at maturity will be well worth it!
